Nothing much known about this extremely rare piece of Dredd merchandise. John Wagner contacted me to see if I would like it, along with a few other things and how on earth could I refuse an offer like that. A couple of years back, at Thought Bubble, it was handed over to be placed into the Cellar for safe keeping.
I just wish they had actually gone and pushed this out into the shops, as it's the finished product. Makes you wonder if there is a corner of a warehouse with a few boxes of these stockpiled and forgotten about!
As you will see from the photos, the only real damage is to the actual eagle itself but who cares, this is mega rare! By the way, the picture at the top of the blog is just to show how large the actual soap is!
Who knows, in the far future we may actually get something like this mass produced!
it make you think what's out there in the way of Dredd stuff
ReplyDeleteI have one of these too, in a very dusty original box, picked up when I worked at Titan Distributors. It was probably sent to us as a sample. Any idea what it might be worth? Mine doesn't have the eagle's head either. I'd guess it would have been too fragile/fiddly to cast in the mould and was therefore simply omitted.
ReplyDeleteHi Toby,
DeleteI know of two people at the very least, who would pay decent money for yours.
Robert Stewart and Dale Jackson. Both have longed for mine.
I don't know if you are on facebook but there is a group on there called 2000AD & Judge Dredd Tat and Chat
If you post it up on there, just watch them come flooding. I bet you would get private messages flooding in.
Sorry I can't give a price but I know there would be a battle for it.
Thank you! I'm a member of that Facebook group. I must dig it out, dust it down and see what they have to say. Much appreciated. Cheers, T.
DeleteI look forward to the excitement when you do!
